Volunteer Opportunities

Initiative offers many opportunities for either individuals or volunteer groups to give back to their communities. Please call 404-299-9979 for more information on landscaping/cleanup, fix-up or maintenance of homes, computer training, warehouse organization and special projects.


Fix-up/Maintenance
Help get one of Initiative’s 30 houses ready for a new family to make it a home…

Painting (inside and out)
Replacing flooring, light fixtures, and bathroom fixtures

Installing new appliances, general “fixing-up”

 

Landscaping/Clean-up
Help give new life to yards around Initiative's houses or apartment grounds…

Warehouse Organization
Help sort and organize donated furniture, linens, household items, in our warehouse…
Initiative receives many generous contributions of furniture and household items for families moving into one of the our houses or apartments. Keeping the warehouse organized is an ongoing process, creating a need for monthly assistance from volunteer groups and individual volunteers.



Special Projects
New - Read to Children Project - (Begins 2003)…
Volunteer your time for one hour, weekly, to read to elementary school and pre-school age children at our apartment complex community room, in Avondale.
